Space Required for Installation
To ensure the Lightweight Temporary Staircase will fit correctly, the stairwell should provide sufficient clear space for the complete staircase, including the intermediate turn platform.
The staircase is designed around the following dimensions:
- Floor-to-floor height: 2.70 m
- Intermediate turn platform height: 1.45 m from ground-floor level
- Overall staircase length / scaffold floor width: approximately 2.20 m
- Required width at first-floor level: approximately 1.90 m
- Minimum stairwell depth: approximately 1.63 m
These dimensions should be treated as the minimum clear space required, with the stairwell free from obstructions such as pipework, door frames, handrails or other projections. Where possible, additional clearance should be allowed to make installation and use easier.
