Telesafe Telescopic Edge Protection

Telesafe is an adjustable temporary edge protection system designed for construction and refurbishment applications where exposed edges, stairwells, staircases and openings need to be protected.

The system uses steel posts fixed securely to the supporting structure, with telescopic metal rails connected between the posts to form a double guardrail. The adjustable rails allow the system to accommodate different spans without the need to cut timber rails to individual lengths.

This makes Telesafe a practical option for projects where temporary edge protection needs to be installed, repositioned or adapted as work progresses.

How Does Telesafe Edge Protection Work?

Telesafe guardrail posts are fixed to the floor through the post base plate. Telescopic rails are then installed between the posts and secured using locking wedges.

The posts feature anti-luce fittings on adjacent faces, allowing them to be positioned at corners, at the end of a run or between sections of guardrail.

Where required, toeboards can also be secured at the base of the system.

For staircase applications, dedicated stair stringer posts and newel fittings are available, allowing the Telesafe system to be configured around different stair and landing arrangements.

Adjustable Telescopic Guardrails

One of the main advantages of the Telesafe system is the use of adjustable steel guardrails.

Three rail sizes are available:

• Short telescopic rail: 0.8m–1.2m
• Medium telescopic rail: 1.2m–2.0m
• Long telescopic rail: 2.0m–3.6m

The different rail lengths allow the system to be adapted to a wide range of spans and layouts.

Because the rails telescope to the required length, there is no need to measure, saw and cut timber guardrails for each section. This can make installation and repositioning more straightforward, particularly where dimensions vary across a project.

Temporary Edge Protection for Floor Edges and Openings

Telesafe can be used to create temporary guardrails around exposed floor edges, openings and other areas where permanent edge protection has not yet been installed.

The steel posts and highly visible metal rails create a clearly defined temporary barrier around the protected area.

The system is particularly suitable for construction projects where the position or dimensions of exposed edges may change as different stages of work are completed.

Telescopic Stair Edge Protection

Telesafe can also be configured for temporary stair edge protection.

Dedicated stair stringer posts are fixed to the staircase and linked using telescopic guardrails. Newel post box fittings and newel post fitting plates are also available for different stair and landing arrangements.

This allows the same telescopic guardrail system to be used for both horizontal floor-edge protection and staircase applications.
