Podium steps are rapidly taking the place of stepladders on construction sites around the UK.
The introduction of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 means the unsafe use of step ladders are being replaced with the much safer podium steps or podium platforms.
When using a podium step the HSE key message is: “to put tools and materials onto the podium step at ground level where possible and always close and lock the gate before starting work”.
