Safety Platforms new “EasyDeck” product has been developed to stop falls from height through the stairway void which has been identified and demonstrated to be a serious health and safety issue.

Stairwell openings are a high risk area within the housebuilding industry. To prevent operatives falling down stairwell openings during the early stages of construction, a variety of methods are used by housebuilders, all of which are costly, time consuming and open to human error with extremely dangerous consequences when something goes wrong.

The Easydeck solution.

Easydeck are lightweight decks which are very easily lifted into position and secured by screws to prevent removal and allow safe access to be maintained by the way of a hatch which allows for ladder access. Easydeck weighs only 18kg and requires no intermediate support and takes 2 minutes to install.

The Easydeck is constructed from aluminium tube and non slip weatherproof phenolic plywood. Panel size 3m x 0.6m x 60mm. Weighing in at only 17.9 Kilos and with a load weight of 250kg per panel.

Historically Joiners would install high roof trusses on the apex of roofs by nailing an ad-hoc ladder and ascending by balancing on each rung with a nail gun and nailing the next level. This was rightfully seen as an unsafe historic practice that needed to be addressed.

Safety Platforms Ltd now has stock of Podium steps in sizes ranging from 500mm platform height to 1.25m platform height. The lowest Podium step is 500mm giving a working height of 2.5m. The 750mm podium step is one of our biggest sellers this medium sized Podium Step is ideal for most low level access construction and maintenance tasks. Safety Platforms 1000mm Podium and 1.25m Podium are our higher level access solutions for our customers giving a working height of 3.25 meters. We can supply our podium steps up to a maximum height of 2m, giving a working height of 4m.

For the customer who wants a little more flexible access from the podium step, we can supply an adjustable Podium . The adjustable podium adjust form 1M to 1.25m giving a working height of 3m and 3.25m respectively.

All podiums from 500mm to 1.25m are ex stock and are available on a next day nationwide delivery service.

All our podiums are PAS250 compliant and can be supplied with the optional stabilizers.

Safety Platforms has launched The S.T.A Decking System (Pron. STAR) for the house building sector. The S.T.A decking System is the first complete solution to the safe installation of roof trusses.

The S.T.A Decking system allows joiners a safe flat surface to walk on while carrying the S.T.A ladder thus eliminating the need to balance on roof joists with all the inherent risks that that entails.

The S.T.A ladder enables the roof joiner to maintain 3 points of contact at all times while using a nail gun to attach to the highest trusses.

Previously a roof joiner would nail timbers to create an adhoc ladder and then clamber on those to get to the roofline trusses. This was rightly identified as a health and safety breach and is being addressed by all the major housebuilders.

The S.T.A ladder and decking system reduces massively the risks of falls from up to 5m and above while installing roof trusses closing once and for all a known health and safety when roofing new build properties.

Safety Platforms has produced a revised instruction video for its Stairsafe product. The Stairsafe system is the safest, most cost effective and durable product on the market today. The basic Stairsafe system is £445.00 Plus VAT inclusive of delivery. The Complete system is £605.00 (c/w guardrail and braces). Other makes of staircase plastering systems can be as much as four times as expensive as our Safety Platforms Ltd version. We supply to a number of national housebuilders and pride ourselves on our level of service and quality. The Stairsafe system is Ex stock and is available on a next day nationwide delivery.
